At Huis Maerua we aim to be a light to the children in our care. Huis Maerua’s Bonnie Firelighters is our way of sharing this light with our local and international communities.

The Huis Maerua Bonnie is a fire lighter made with recycled candle wax and shredded paper, neatly encased in a cupcake holder, giving new life to discarded items.

And it is the same new life we strive to give to each child who’s life had been shredded by circumstances beyond his/her control and placed in our care.
